Thanksgiving is that time of year to be especially thankful for the special people in your lives. We know that many families will be gathering with loved ones for the first time in almost two years and we hope you enjoy these special holiday moments and cherish them.
Harpers Handmade Co. is grateful to serve our community by creating beautiful jewelry and accessories that bring joy. From the team at Harpers Handmade Co., here are some interesting Thanksgiving discussions to have when gathering around the table:
Thanksgiving Q&A
Everyone has a favorite. What's yours? Have each person answer the question with their favorite Thanksgiving food. This could be fun at the table too, and if the mashed potatoes are your favorite, maybe you get an extra helping. Many celebrations have each person say what, or who, they are most thankful for, so you might combine the two. Or, have everyone write down their favorite anonymously, and everyone else has to guess whose favorite it is.
Turkey Trivia
Traditionally the centerpiece of the meal is turkey. How much does everyone know about this large bird? Play a round of Turkey Trivia. Do a quick online search and round up facts about turkeys. Then, create questions around each. Is competition fun for your group? See who correctly answers the most, and they get an extra helping of their favorite, or maybe a home-crafted badge to proudly wear the rest of the day.
Candy Corn?
Turkeys like corn, and some people like Candy Corn. If you have leftover candy corn from your Halloween, count it out as you put it in a large jar. Have everyone write down their name and guess at the number. What does the winner get? The candy corn, of course.
Group Calls
Turkeys 'call' and so can you. Maybe there’s a family member or friend unable to join you. Today there are many ways to stay in touch and have them join virtually. Make a phone call or a video phone call and have everyone join in to say hello. The folks who aren’t there will very much appreciate being included.
After you clear the table, enjoy a round of leftovers and plan your holiday gift shopping strategy, we kindly ask you to keep Small Business Saturday in mind. This year it’s November 27th.
Purchasing from a small online business or within your local community is the best way to show your support. Small businesses are the heart of towns across our nation. In addition to their goods and services, they provide several economic benefits, including employment opportunities, tax dollars, and community support. Shop small on November 27th, and you make a big difference to your community.
The Harpers Handmade Co team is thankful to be able to serve our community through doing what we love: creating beautiful jewelry and accessories that bring joy to our customers.
